The Abraham Accords are a set of diplomatic agreements brokered by the United States in 2020 to normalise relations between Israel and several Arab countries.
Signed during the first presidency of Donald Trump, the accords led the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Morocco to establish formal ties with Israel, while Sudan later agreed to join.
Trump is now pushing to expand the agreements as part of wider efforts to reduce tensions in the Middle East during negotiations with Iran.
He recently suggested countries including Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Pakistan should recognise Israel — a proposal many analysts consider unrealistic given the war in Gaza and strong public support for Palestinians across the Muslim world.
Supporters say the accords strengthened regional trade and security cooperation, while critics argue they failed to address the Palestinian issue at the centre of the conflict.
