Man charged after fatal assault of Donegal businessman

A man has been charged in connection with the death of a well-known businessman in County Donegal following an assault.

The body of Stephen McCahill, who was in his 60s, was found at a house near Ardara at about 03:50 local time on Monday.

An Garda Síochána (Irish police) said a man in his 30s, who was arrested as part of their investigation, had since been charged and will appear before Letterkenny District Court on Tuesday.

A number of tributes have been paid to McCahill, who was a well-known businessman, auctioneer, and publican in Donegal.
